Gocek to Gocek (Alexander's Path). Gordon is a superb captain and knowledgeable tour guide, and Wilma is every bit a first mate and executive chef. The TGE with its handsome teak deck and spacious guest quarters is one heck of a taxi down the Lycian coast! We weren't sailors Honeymoon Sailing Gocek Turkeywhen we started, we're not sailors now (though Gordon has bestowed on us the title "TGE Ambassador"), but there's no better way to explore the Turkish coast to get a real sense of its charming ports and to explore ancient history than with Gordon and crew aboard the TGE. Michael Cippoletti, San Francisco, California, April 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Alexander's Path). We had such fun/The sights, the sun/We sailed the glorious sea/The trip was great/With Gordon and mate/Aboard the TGE! From port to port/And shore to shore/Though sailors clearly not are we/We'll tell our tale/Our friends we'll regale/With stories of the TGE! What a special trip/This honeymoon sail/Such a special memory/We hope again to climb aboard/The wonderful TGE! Jennifer Cippoletti, San Francisco, California, April 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday). Beautiful boat, beautiful waters. Amazing trip! Gordon will teach you how to find the sweet spot between the sails and tell stories of Cleopatra and Alexander The Great.  Wilma will translate it all into seven languages while preparing delicious salads and pastries.  Looking forward to our next trip.  Peter and Shannon Brigham-Hill, Washington, D.C., May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Alexander's Path). Seven fascinating days - we explored ancient sites with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Gordon - we even found things that Gordon hadn't seen before. Great boat, beautiful area made for sailing. Will go home and study ancient history and come back - thank you Gordon and Wilma (mate and great cook). Michael Keyes, Point Shares, Bermuda, May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Alexander's Path). Perfect balance of relaxing sailing along this picturesque coast and energetic hikes to explore ancient sites and other points of interest. On land our steely skipper became an enthusiastic and informative antiquarian. Wilma's onboard gourmet breakfasts and lunches were rivaled only by our evening "eat-out" stops at coves and villages. Aisla Keyes, Point Shares, Bermuda, May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday). Idyllic days sailing and sightseeing on a real sailboat with a real sailor. Gordon's encyclopedic knowledge of the Gulf of Fethiye and broader history was a bonus as were Wilma'sHoneymoon Sailing Gocek Turkey breakfasts and lunches. Alec Brennan, Greenwich, New South Wales, May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday).  Loved the trip - except for the tilt!  Great company and I really enjoyed the hikes with Gordon to see sites of historical interest.  Lovely boat.  Can't beat that teak decking!  Thanks, Gordon and Wilma.  Liz Brennan, Greenwich, New South Wales, May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday).  A wonderful few days enjoying all the scenery, history and food that the the Gulf has to offer.  Thank you!  Nick Brennan, Greenwich, New South Wales, May 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Cleopatra's Route). Back in Gocek after a superb week of sailing again aboard T.G. Ellyson. All in all, it was perfect: sun, good weather, returned to bays visited on prior TGE voyages - and this time Gordon added two new bays plus Rodos to our itinerary. Will be back for a seventh time this fall if at all possible. One of my best holidays. I depart with my batteries fully charged thanks to Gordon, Wilma, the TGE, and Turkey. Howdy Hilderbrand, Geneva, June 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday). A superb week cruising the Gulf of Fethiye with Gordon and Jenny. We arrived in a heat wave which continued throughout the week.  This didn't dampen our spirit but we did consume vast quantities of liquids.  Gordon led us to some fascinating ruins and explained the historical context superbly.  We truly felt we were walking in the footsteps of Antony and Cleopatra.  Excellent food and company made for an enjoyable week. Simon Lunn, Ashford, Kent, July 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday).  Thank you for a great time.  (with xxxx's) Emily Lunn, Ashford, Kent, July 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday).  Thank you Gordon and Jenny for a great trip.  It was very hot but we went swimming a lot to cool us down.  My favorite bay was Wall Bay because it was good for snorkeling.  Thank you.  Sophie Lunn, Ashford, Kent, July 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday). I really enjoyed our trip on T.G. Ellyson. It was very hot so we did lots and lots of swimming. We visited lots of pretty bays and went on tiring but interesting treks to see ancient Honeymoon Sailing Gocek Turkeyruins. The sailing was good but there was not always much wind. The food was excellent. All in all I had a brilliant time. (with xxxx's) Jessica Lunn, Ashford, Kent, July 2002

Gocek to Gocek (Lycian Holiday). A fun time had by all. Alison Bonner, Ashford, Kent, July 2002

Gocek to Bodrum (Cleopatra's Route).  All of the events leading to our first outing on the TGE, including wedding and secret honeymoon, ensured I would arrive a frayed bundle of nerves.  I desperately wished to be done with decisions.  Now that we are about to sit down to our final dinner with Gordon and Isabelle, I am going to quite proudly say that I have managed to plan a truly idyllic honeymoon by more or less subjugating our comings and goings to Gordon's best judgement.  I am confident Valerie's expectations have been surpassed. I feel Gordon has shown us places we would never have otherwise seen, all the while explaining their history.  He has made sure we have sampled the best each restaurant had to offer, and dropped us off each night in a blissfully worry-free state.  It's easy to imagine spending much more time with Gordon and visiting many more places in the future.  Many Thanks, Robbie Goffin, Toronto and New York City, August 2002

Gocek to Bodrum (Cleopatra's Route).  Our captain provided more than the relaxation we had anticipated.  He acquainted us with local customs and culture and with loads of history.  And the humor beneath his stern seaman's exterior kept us smiling the whole time.  Isabelle was delightful and welcoming.  She made sure our every wish was satisfied.  Our honeymoon far surpassed expectations.  I can't wait to spread the word.  Valerie Goffin, Minneapolis and New York City, August 2002

Gocek to Bodrum (Cleopatra's Route). Merci Gordon.  Une experience a repeter.  Isabelle Outin, Paris, August 2002

Kos to Rhodes (Aegean Odyssey).  Dear Gordon, The Weaver family will never forget our fabulous week Honeymoon Sailing Greece aboard the T.G. Ellyson.  Every day was perfect: new ports of call, shimmering clear water in which to swim, drinks at sunset, ruins to explore, hiking, climbing, and of course the daily search for the perfect octopus salad.  Best of all was getting to know you and Annie, share our experiences and laugh together at all our seaborne quirks!  Thanks so much for sharing all your yachting knowledge and for taking the five Weavers on a terrific vacation.  We'll be back!  Love, Susan, Michael, Nick, Ceci, and Winn.  Susan Weaver, New York City, August 2002

Kos to Rhodes (Aegean Odyssey).  Dear Gordon, My family and I have had a wonderful time aboard the T.G. Ellyson.  I couldn't ask for a better bridge partner.  Our week has gone by too quickly because of the fun we've had.  Thank you very much.  Ceci Weaver, New York City, August 2002

Kos to Rhodes (Aegean Odyssey).  Dear Gordon, Thank you so much for taking us on our wonderful voyage through the Greek islands.  The TGE is a beautiful boat, worthy of these beautiful locales.  Thank you for all the great times.  Winn Jewett, New York City, August 2002

Kos to Rhodes (Aegean Odyssey).  Gordon, Family vacations are by definition special times - BUT - the TGE and our travels with you speak of memories for all of us we should never forget - FANTASTIC.  Thank you for what all five of us will treasure.  Michael Weaver, New York City, August 2002

Kos to Rhodes (Aegean Odyssey).  (Nicholas Weaver made no log entry but did ask whether he might return as crew in 2004.)

Rhodes to Kos (Cleopatra's Route). We from South Carolina always enjoy a good time and good hospitality. Gordon and Annie provided both. In addition we've seen sights that we will always remember. For future travelers we might suggest that they get their balance in tip top shape - which has been an adjustment for those of us over six feet. The other bit of advice is to try to bring too little rather than too much. This boat is a T-shirt, bathing suit, and barefoot experience. Enjoy as we have. Jane and Bob Davidson, Columbia, South Carolina, September 2002

Rhodes to Kos (Cleopatra's Route). There were many wonderful sights and ruins to see! Bring your hiking shoes. This is also a trip for real sailors. Quite an experience! Thanks to Gordon and Annie. Walter and Carole Gunter, Columbia, South Carolina, September 2002

Bodrum to Kos (Aegean Odyssey). "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dieing of the light ." Thanks for having me aboard Gordon! Annie Lyons, Paris, September 2002

Dear Homo Sapiens, There is no need to continue reading this page. What follows is intended for search engine robots and spiders and not necessarily for human beings. Further information concerning holiday and honeymoon sailing in Greece and Turkey may be obtained by clicking on the blue links immediately above. Thank You. Honeymoon sailing Greece. Honeymoon sailing Turkey. Yacht charter Greece. Yacht charter Turkey. For the twenty years the TGE has been sailing the eastern Mediterranean its crewed charter yacht holiday has been the kind of holiday for which holiday-goers and honeymooners searched. A charter sailing holiday or honeymoon in Greece. A charter sailing holiday or honeymoon cruising among Greek Dodecanese Islands of the Aegean Sea. A yacht charter in Turkey. Sailing Turkey. Honeymoons. Family holidays. Yes, a sailing yacht would be chartered in Greece to cruise among Greek islands of the Aegean Sea. Cruising Greece. Rhodes, Simi (Symi), Khalki (Chalki/Halki), Tilos (Episcopia when the Knights Hospitaller ruled), Nisiros, Kos. Or a sailing yacht would be chartered to cruise along the south coast of Turkey. Cruising Turkey. Wall Bay, Tomb Bay, Honeymoon Sailing
Greece Cleopatra's Bay, Ekincik, Loryma, Selimiye, Kalaboshi, Knidos. One or the other, a yacht charter honeymoon or holiday would be planned in Greece or Turkey. A honeymoon or holiday aboard a sailing yacht chartered in Greece, or a honeymoon or holiday aboard a sailing yacht chartered in Turkey. A sailing yacht chartered to cruise the Aegean from Kos. Or a sailing yacht chartered to cruise the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. But with anti-American angst on the rise, few Americans came in 2002. Americans recognized the angst, of course. Many sympathized. After all, only those in government understood why the U.S. had refused to sign the Ottawa Anti-Personnel Land Mine Treaty, a treaty signed by 150 other nations. Then there was the Kyoto Clean Air Protocol the U.S. declined. And the chemical and biological weapons inspection treaty the U.S. refused to endorse at Barcelona. Nuclear first-strike and pre-emptive war became U.S. doctrine. Indefinite detention without representation of citizen and non-citizen alike became un-protested U.S. habit. Violation of the Geneva Conventions on treatment of prisoners of war. Water boarding. Friendly fire and collateral damage in Afghanistan. Attempted torpedoing of the International Criminal Court. A failed effort to scuttle the international treaty on prevention of torture. And, some said, American arrogance, ignorance of and in-your-face disdain for the rest of the world. Non-Americans, they said, increasingly didn't like it. That was the anti-American angst which concerned many Americans. The only Honeymoon Sailing Greecehope of reversing the angst became and still is regime change in Washington. Vote for it! Rid America of the tool and the fools manipulating the tool. Then, perhaps, Americans will again be cruising Greece and cruising Turkey. Should you be able to anticipate that eventuality and wish to get aboard a crewed sailing yacht for the holiday or honeymoon of a lifetime, or wish to get aboard a crewed charter yacht with an experienced crew able to show you the Aegean islands of Greece, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Sporades, or wish to get aboard a crewed yacht to cruise Cleopatra's honeymoon route up the Turkish coast to ancient Ephesus, or aboard a crewed yacht to sail along Alexander's port-closing path down the coast of Turkey, well then, contact us at tgeyacht@aol.com. What is water boarding? you might ask. Water boarding is a CIA procedure approved by George W. Bush in 2002 to coerce individuals apprehended in the war on terror, later adopted for use in the war with Iraq. In this procedure the victim is strapped to a board. Head down, feet up, the victim's head may be repetitively submerged in water, or a wet cloth may be clamped over the victim's breathing organs inducing fear of asphyxiation. In either event the procedure is repeated until the victim tells what the perpetrator wishes to hear. Or until the victim dies. In that event there is an autopsy conducted by the CIA which determines the cause of death as accidental and about which the American public hears nothing. To discuss water boarding, too, contact us today at tgeyacht@aol.com.
